Answer by Huh?
hmm..
This is just a guess
but
I assumed the women and slaves were treated as maids and the men were supposed to be brave and be the care takers as the women has kids and cooked and cleaned and no rights so the slaves were probably treated worse. But im not good history so dont rely on my answer as much.

By using interpretations of the Bible. Since the Bible was only in Latin and most people did not read Latin, they had to get the “word of God” from the clergy. If they did not follow what the clergy said, then they were violating the “word of God” and were going to go to hell.
trickery and paranoia
As the spread of Christianity increased so did the power of the church. The high priests claimed that any country that did not follow their orders would be doomed to hell. This threat held much power and because of this the church rose to great political power. With tax money and decision making going to the church it had a huge influence over the countries and had more power than the kings of these countries did. Since it had so much power it was hard for the royalty of the country to compete so the church remained in power. One of the first countries to break away from the catholic church was England when King Henry wanted to get a divorce from his wife and was not allowed. He then created the Anglican church and made himself the head of this church. This was a huge start to Protestantism.
