How long should you check out a church to see whether it is a place for you or not?

Question by winterized: How long should you check out a church to see whether it is a place for you or not?
I’ve been church hopping for some time now, and for various reasons including my social skills and my need to pick a church that strongly believes in Bible, I have a hard time fitting into any church. Any ideas about how long you check out a church until you realize it’s not working?

If it’s called a church, that’s a no no

  1. 12-35 years

  2. If you knew Christ, you would know immediately!

  3. You can also do a search on line to see what churches are out there where you live locally. Pray and Seek God on where you should go to church.

Try to find one that lines up with what scripture teaches. Also have a look at their statement of faith as to what they believe.

Be also aware that the churches out there can also be apart of the world counsel of churches which is apart of the ecumenical movement brought on by the catholic church.

See here what churches are on that list.

They are trying to bring every one under submission to the catholic church. If you are Born Again I recommend you seek a church who has not joined with them.

  4. I feel the same sometimes as you, but end up so far just staying with the one. I figure I go there to praise God most importantly not so much a social thing for me.

  5. There is no set time.

    Try a non-denominational church.

Closed minded people are always a no-no.

  6. You will need to pick a lot of flowers before you find the right one. Look for honesty in the members and look out for bigoted traits and check out the pastor. If he is not leading a holy and decent life and does not tell the truth it is a no no.

Make sure they are living to the instructions in the bible.

  7. Why bother, mate?
It’s never going to work unless you want to make it your profession; it can be a nice little earner, since it’s tax free and you can introduce tithing if collections are scant.

  8. First make sure you are born-again, by asking Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sin and to come into your life and be your personal Lord and Savior. Then ask God to show you where He would have you go to church.
God will confirm in your Spirit when you are at the right place. It must be a Trinitarian church , one that believes that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are 3 entities, yet One God. If it’s non-Trinitarian, it’s a cult and you need to flee from it.
Also, one way to know , for me, that I am in the right church, is that if Sunday after Sunday comes and you are thinking about a church that you’ve been to and you picture in your Spirit that you are going there, that may be the place God wants you. I have visited other churches before, but as of now, I keep getting the same church in my Spirit every Sunday morning.
Also, ask God for a born-again, spirit-filled church, one that teaches the whole counsel of God. After getting born-again, God wants to fill you then ( after getting born-again and in addition to being born-again) with His Spirit by baptizing you in His Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
