Question by Wall Space: Is it true in that according to Christian theology, a billion people in China are condemned to Hell?
I was recently asked how I can comfortably be a Christian if this is obviously the case. I do not think it is the case, but I was curious as to what the community thinks.

There is a huge underground church in China. There are millions of Christians in China, and growing every day.
And nobody has to be sent to hell.
We’re all sinners. Only JESUS is acceptable PAYMENT for our sins. All the good deeds in the world won’t pay for even ONE of our sins. All the “living a moral life” won’t pay for even one of our sins.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead. That is why Jesus had to die on the cross, because there is no other way for us to be saved. You must believe in Jesus alone for salvation, to be saved. That simple.
Either Jesus already paid for a person’s sins, or that person will pay for their sins in eternal torment in hell. That is the choice before everyone.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in Jesus for salvation, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus alone for salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! 
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus alone to save you! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).
Please pray now: “Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!

I don’t think they are. There are many more Christians in China then people know. They just have to practice ‘underground’ because of the persecution.
If they are not followers of Christ….yes.(sadly)
However, if you have a heart for people going to hell, then do what Jesus said to do and tell others about Him. Focus on Christ…
hope so, then we can default on our federal debt to them.

No. No where in the Bible it states the a billion people in China will not enter into the enter of Heaven. There are millions of Christians there. The Bible does state that the majority of the world will not enter into Heaven because they chose to take the ‘easy’ way out of life, by following man then God. As a result they reject God’s free gift of life.
Christian Theology varies.
If you ask a fundamentalist Christian that question then they’re likely to say definitely yes. I don’t criticize them by saying that-I just state a fact.
If you ask a person who is progressive in their faith i.e. they don’t interpret the Bible literally and think you can be a Democrat and still be a Christian etc. then they would likely say no.
Ultimately if we’re asking about who God lets into heaven or not-really none of us can know for sure. Only God has that choice-humans can’t say who is “in” and who isn’t. We can only respond faithfully to what we understand about God’s calling to us as Christians-love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls and our neighbors as ourselves. Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.
So even if some folks profess that “a billion people are going to hell” then just know they can be wrong. Read Jonah-God loves who God wants to love-not who we say God is supposed to love. I’m grateful for that because many would say God doesn’t love me because I’m a “liberal”.

There are Christians that believe this to be true, like that chap up there who said to focus on Christ. Christianity can be very arrogant in that regard. Just think about all those tribesmen in Africa and the rain forests of South America who will never even hear about Jesus once in their entire lives. These people are said to be bound for eternal torture because no one made it to their villages with a brochure. Too bad, so sad.
For me, it’s just another hole in the shabby plot of religion. Those who never hear of Jesus and his merry parlor tricks will end up just like those who do: Dead and decomposing.
Yes but… there is room for them, the water that was used for the flood in Genesis is being stored in hell now, remember that the highest mountains were covered, that is nearly six miles above sea level or more than 28,000 ft for K2. The volume will be large enough to hold twice that many Chinses… if necessary Lmao!
Salvation is God’s business. There will not be one child of God left behind or will die in sin. God knows who are His. He has just as many children in China as in other countries. Remember just because self proclaimed cry, “Lord Lord” it doesn’t make them saved.
i do not understand why anyone would think such a thing. how can people who claim to be Christans accuse God of Love of being to evil as to do such a cruel thing. THERE IS NO HELL. DEATHIS THE WADGES OF SIN. ALL MEN SIN AND ALL MEN DIE. SO WHO IS GOING TO BE RESURECTED? GOD ONLY KNOWS
AND how can anyone say they have the right to decide that the Chinses would deserve such a cruel thing to happen to them? ONLY ALMIGHTY GOD CAN SEE AND JUDGE THE HEART
