Spiritual Center of the Universe

Cave Rock is 75 feet of solid stone at the southern end of Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park, and is the throat of an extinct volcano. Tahoe Tessie, the lake’s version of the Loch Ness monster, is reputed to live in a cavern below the impressive outcropping.

This large rock formation is located on the southeastern shore and is easily visible from almost any point on the lake. Once a part of the neck of a volcanic vent that existed on the site about five million years ago, Cave Rock is now named for the caves high up on its side. When Lake Tahoe was first formed, roughly three million years ago, lake level was initially hundreds of feet higher than it is now. Remarkably, these caves were carved out of the rock by wave action of the lake over tens of thousands of years during that period.

For the Washoe Indians, this area is a sacred burial site. It is their spiritual center of the universe! Cave Rock towers over a parking lot, a lakefront picnic ground, and a boat launch. The views are some of the best on the lake. Cave Rock is still considered today a sacred site to the Washoe Indians whose ancestors spent their summers at Lake Tahoe and once performed religious ceremonies inside the largest of the caves. Much to the dismay of the Washoe tribe the first tunnel for Highway 50 was blasted through the rock in 1931. Prior to 1931 the original single lane roadway went around the outside of the rock. The stone foundation for the road, laid at great expense in 1865, is still easily visible clinging to the side of the rock. The second, easternmost tunnel was added in 1957.

Celebrate A New Life Marks Second Anniversary As Christian Drug Treatment Center

Celebrate A New Life Marks Second Anniversary As Christian Drug Treatment Center

“Help begins with the first phone call,” Celebrate a New Life is available Toll-Free 24/7

San Juan Capistrano, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

This month marks an important milestone for Celebrate A New Life. It was March 2009 when Bobby Nicholl welcomed the first patient to Celebrate A New Life’s Christian residential drug and alcohol treatment center.

Celebrate a New Life was conceived with encouragement from pastors, Christian psychologists, probation officer and judges. As Mr. Nicholl says: “There were plenty of charity Christian programs, such as the rescue missions and Salvation Army for low income and the homeless, but just very few Christian Drug Rehab programs were available with high-quality comfortable amenities. This inspiration gave me the confidence to design Celebrate A New Life which culminates a Biblical Christ centered approach to healing, restoration, and reconciliation to God, family, and to one’s own dignity and self-worth; in a comfortable safe ocean environment.”

Bobby Nicholl brings a wealth of knowledge to Celebrate a New Life, having worked in the recovery field for over 15 years he has drawn on his experience to design individualized and customized treatment plans to meet the specific needs, issues and circumstances for each client.

In the past two years 130 clients have completed the Christian program at Celebrate A New Life. Typically each client arrives searching for recovery, but doubtful about what lies ahead. “Watching the transformation take place right before our eyes and witnessing the sparkle of life and hope return to the client’s eyes confirms that our mission to minister the love of Jesus Christ to the least, the last and the lost is working,” reports Nicholl.

The Celebrate A New Life staff stresses that it is important to remember: “When the client recovers and gets well, sometimes the family and significant others in their lives don’t feel they have to change or work on anything; however, it’s critical to understand addiction truly is a family disease. We believe a family gets sick together and we want them to be able to get well together; therefore, we offer extensive family therapy, both for an individual family and groups.”

Celebrate A New Life welcomes inquiries about the Christian Program. Remember for you or your family member “help begins with the first phone call.”

About Celebrate A New Life: Celebrate A New Life is a Christian Residential Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Program, located in the coastal communities of Orange County Southern California. As an integrated component of one of the very best treatment facilities and drug rehab programs in the United States, Celebrate A New Life culminates a Biblical Christ centered approach to healing, restoration, and reconciliation to God, family, and to one’s own dignity and self-worth. Celebrate a New Life offers 30-60-90 day programs in a comfortable safe ocean environment. How can I keep from going to the local Christian youth center?

Question by Eric: How can I keep from going to the local Christian youth center?
I’m an atheist that hasnt “come out” yet, and my parents want me to join this local youth ministry for college students now that I’m a freshman. Because of my beliefs about Christianity, I feel like it will just be a big fat waste of time. I could be studying and LEARNING during those hours! 😛
But they’ll feel like I’m a dirty sinner otherwise. They’re pretty much making me go. How can I stand my ground?

Answer by iampretty
tell your parents you want to go to the library and study instead.

can you tell them you have gone but just don’t go?

college ain’t cheap. wasting time at church centers is a HUGE waste of your parents money.

Also jobs ain’t easy to get nowadays, if you don’t study you ain’t gonna get no job after college. tell your parents that.
