Personal Questions Regarding Faith, Religion and Spirituality Inspired Author Jackie Wellman to Write “Spiritual Clarity”

Personal Questions Regarding Faith, Religion and Spirituality Inspired Author Jackie Wellman to Write “Spiritual Clarity”

West Des Moines, Iowa (PRWEB) August 11, 2005

Spiritual Clarity is available now. Jackie Wellman had personal questions regarding faith, religion and spirituality. Those questions encouraged her to do extensive research. That research developed into her first book, Spiritual Clarity. Writing Spiritual Clarity has empowered her and led her to a conclusion she feels good about.

She had questions such as: Who is the more spiritual person? Is it the woman out for a Sunday morning drive to get coffee and a newspaper, who sees a dog in the road and swerves to avoid hitting it or is it the man, who in his haste to get to his weekly church service on time that hits the dog? Who knows? Being a part of organized religion has nothing to do with being a “good person.” Spirituality can be achieved with or without organized religion.

“Spiritual Clarity” will answer basic questions about different religions. It will define the positives and negatives associated with organized religion. It will help the reader achieve their own spiritual clarity. Spiritual Clarity does not attempt to influence its readers in any way, as do most books available about religion. The website http://www.hoppy.bravehost.com will provide more information about the book, including a review.

“Spiritual Clarity” is available now online through; amazon.com, borders.com, barnesandnoble.com and books-a-million.com Spiritual Clarity can be ordered at any local bookstore.

A Unification of Science and Religion

Palisade, CO (Vocus) September 2, 2010

A Unification of Science and Religion, a new book by Pete Doumit, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Do we have to believe in either God or science? Or can we believe in both God and science? And is there a logically tenable position with regard to the unification of science and religion? These are some of the questions that are addressed in this book. From quantum physics to the Big Bang, evolution by natural selection to geologic time, the author discusses the rationality of religious faith in light of modern scientific findings and seeks to dismantle the false dichotomy between science and religion. In this book, you will find a compelling case made that shows not only that science and religion can be unified, but that they should be unified.

Pete Doumit is a consulting geologist with a background in education. A former high school science teacher and junior college geology and astronomy professor, Mr. Doumit has experienced first-hand the questions that surround the roles that science and religion play in the lives of many people. He holds a B.S. in Natural Science with a Geology emphasis from the University of Puget Sound, and an M.A. in Earth Science with a Geology emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado. He resides in western Colorado with his wife and three children.

A Unification of Science and Religion is a 260-page paperback with a retail price of $ 23.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-9858-3. It was published by RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Long Walk to Enlightenment is the author’s attempt to understand the five Middle Eastern religions known as the “Religions of Revelation.” He focuses on Christianity and Islam. Two significant features of Middle Eastern religions are their credence to monotheism and their claims to having been revealed by God. The author makes an earnest attempt to understand how the “wisdom religions,” Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, engage in their search for the Infinite, Absolute Truth. He therefore identifies the major differences between these two groups of religions to make a significant contribution to the science of religion.

Twenty eight year old African American author, Nashea Swinson, inspires many people with her thought provoking poems. Her book, “WE Are Church:Poems of Power and Words of Inspiration was published in May of 2008. It is a book of creative and powerful poems, scriptures, and inspirational messages. Swinson is a minister at Spirit of Fire located in Richmond, VA under the ministry of Michael and Raquel Maye. She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a degree in psychology and currently working with challenged youth as a crisis counselor.

     In December of 1995, at the age of 14, Swinson knelt down on the floor of her bedroom, and received the gift of salvation after hearing for the first time a powerful spiritual message given at a large youth service. From there, her curiosity about God and having a relationship with Jesus Christ grew more intense. At the age of 15, she made a heartfelt decision to live a life worthy before God at all cost. Swinson became highly involved with the youth at her church as well as other Christian activities. Through those years as a teenager, her desire to preach the gospel, and to serve the Lord with all of her heart grew more extreme.

     In August of 2001, Nashea Swinson attended Oral Roberts University located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There she was challenged to go beyond her herizons in ministry. She became heavily involved in weekly outreaches with the youth and the homeless throughout her entire four years at the University. Swinson also participated in missionary journeys to Bulgaria in the summer of 2003 with a team of ORU students serving in various outreaches in the gypsy communities. In the summer of 2004, she served in Singapore

with a large Asian congregation working with the mentally challenged and youth. After her experience with outreach and missions, Swinson’s compassion for people increased more and more. Swinson plans to “be a blessing” to her church, and get other people involved with outreaches and missions.

Lastly, Swinson would like to share with you a popular poem in her book entitled “The Voice, A Word”

I hear the sound of thunder

There’s a soft whisper in the grass

The trees burst with laughter

It’s the voice.

The leaves play, the wind wails,

One thing I realize, I could tell

It’s the voice.

The voice in the thunder, the voice in the grass

The voice in the trees, the voice in the wind and leaves.

It’s a soft word that can never be spoken by the lips of men;

The kind that men long to here everyday that says,

I love you.

Through the good, the bad

In your strengths and weaknesses,

It’s greater than your biggest dream

Your Deepest Desire, beyond who we are

Body, Soul, and Spirit

The voice of the creator of voices

And the sounds of the thunder, the grass,

the trees the wind, and the leaves.

There’s another sound I hear

A multitude of voices from every nation, tribe, and tongue

Worshipping the creator of the voices;

He inhabits in the sounds of the multitudes.

The creator of voices stands;

The earth trembles,

Every knee is bowed and every voice is silent

Other than the creator of voices.

He is the voice that we should submit to

The only true voice that has authority,

And the power to change life

In a blink of an eye,

With a word

With a voice.

Author Dismembers Stigmas Associated with the Word ‘Christian’

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) February 5, 2010

From the womb to life, Xulon Press author Melvin Lumpkin’s The ABC’s and 123’s of a Christian’s Life (.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-539-0) tells the story of the author’s strife as a babe in Christ and his miraculous growth to light. This book of poetry’s main premise is to delve into the reflective observations and aesthetic consciousness of a human being who is trying to understand their God, their personal walk with God, their personal life, and their environment while living in this world. It will also touch people in parts of their psyche that were untouched, uncharted, or forgotten, and help the people who are feeling lonely and ostracized by the majority.

“My hope is that the reader develops a more reflective consciousness about the world around us,” the author says. “I also hope that it will dismember any traditional stigmas that are accompanied with the word ‘Christian’ and that they arrive at a better understanding about the struggle that exists within a human being who is Christian. I think too often human beings lack sympathy empathy or understanding connection of our world and ourselves, which contributes to our shortcomings.”

The rhythmic styles and patterns of this poetry, along with its content, will be a breath of fresh air and a revitalizing injection for the genre of contemporary poetry–a genre that, of late, has grown stagnant. “I don’t think there are any books of contemporary poetry that combine God, individual desires, and spiritual and physical reflections in such a fashion as this book does,” the author explains. “Everyone who has read this book has been impressed and quite pleased.”

Xulon Press, a division of Salem Communications, is the world’s largest Christian publisher, with more than 7,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order The ABC’s and 123’s of a Christian’s Life through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors. The ABC’s and 123’s of a Christian’s Life is available online through xulonpress.com/bookstore, amazon.com, and barnesandnoble.com.
